Notice Regarding 2022 CCR
On behalf of the elected officials of Parkton, we wish to extend to you a very cordial welcome. We hope that you will find our pleasant community a great place to live.
To help you get acquainted to the area, we have reserved a new resident welcome packet for you and your family. The packet includes information on, municipal trash and recycling services, water and sewer utilities, voter registration, dog license, and much more. In addition, we enclosed information on the local library, school district, churches and scout clubs.
Located 10 miles south of downtown Fayetteville, our city covers 2.5 square miles of ageless landscapes and well-established neighborhoods that make our town a premiere home for all age groups. Our school district is Public Schools of Robeson County. Parkton Elementary is a PreK-8 school, located in Parkton and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Residents of Parkton have varied reasons for living here, from the friendly community feel, to our centralized location. We are only minutes from Interstate 95 (I-95) which is the main Interstate Highway on the East Coast of the United States, running largely parallel to the Atlantic Ocean, serving areas between Florida and New England inclusive. Travel is also made easy with the Fayetteville Regional Airport only a short drive. Whatever you are seeking, as a visitor or new resident, we welcome the opportunity to meet your needs.
The businesses that call Parkton home have the benefit of being centrally located within an economic corridor connected by major highways and thoroughfares. This provides plenty of traffic past our storefronts, and easy access to the unique shops and restaurants that are bound within our quaint yet modern small town. Although we are praised for the attribute of a small-town atmosphere, we always welcome opportunities to accommodate new growth, and constantly seek new ideas from our residents and business partners.
Sincerely,
Al McMillan, Mayor
